Less than $1 for a Pumpkin Spice Latte…WHAT?!

Ya…can you believe Starbucks charges you $4.98 for a Grande Pumpkin Spice Latte? Well, since I love them and can’t afford to spend that kind of money every day, I decided to find a recipe where I could make them, store them in a mason jar and bring to work in the morning. Here is what I came up with:

Supplies
*2 TBSP canned pumpkin
*2 Cups Milk
*3/4 (about 8 oz) strongly brewed coffee
*2 TBSP vanilla extract
*1-2 TBSP sugar
*2 tsp pumpkin spice (or cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice is the same thing)

Process

1. Start by combining sugar, milk and pumpkin in a medium saucepan. Whisk together until it begins to steam, remove from heat

2. Stir in vanilla and and spice

3. Briskly whisk the ingredients together until it foams slightly.

4. Brew your coffee (I used a dark bold K-Cup and filled to the 8 oz. line with water)

5. Combine milk and coffee together, finish with a dash of pumpkin spice

That’s it! This recipe makes about 2 cups. I ended up making a week’s worth and storing them in mason jars to grab and heat at work! Just do the math and double or triple the recipe if you are making more at once
